Lyrics Born “REAL PEOPLE” Music Video Premiere

October 8th, 2015

What’s crackin’ my L-Beezies?!!

Today we just released another video off of the album Real People. This one is for the title track and features a gang of cameos from a lot of my friends, fans and fam! My dude James Gunn is on there, my girl Merrill from tUnE-yArDs, the homie Sung Kang, my man Russell Peters, Adrian Younge, the Bay Area’s own Zion-I and DJ Cutso are on there, Galactic, Joey Guila, Evan Jackson Leong, Joyo Velarde and many more!

We had so many entries we couldn’t fit everyone in but I wanna personally thank all of you who sent us a clip for the video. It was a lot of fun to put together. The video concept was the brain child of none other than my better half, Joyo Velarde who co-directed the video along with my man Justin Berger of HKL Films.

The video just dropped on so make sure you check it right now by clicking on the image below:

It is official, and we are very excited to announce the debut book from Lyrics Born; “Yes, Bay Area”.

“Yes, Bay Area” is a collection of Tweets that have been compiled from over the past 2 years and features LB’s funny and insightful musings on the San Francisco Bay Area’s rich and diverse culture.

Prompted by the suggestions of hundreds of fans on Twitter and Facebook, “Yes, Bay Area” is the first of its kind for LB and sees the veteran MC, Producer and Voiceover artist once again stepping into new territory and breaking new ground in a career constantly expanded by his bold and out-of-the-box approach.
Featuring artwork by the Bay Area’s own, Eddie Colla and Jason Malig, the book is through and through a testament to the San Francisco Bay Area.

“Hapa dude from Berkeley with Italian hair, Cajun accent, and intergalactic mic skills capturing the funniest observations on the quirks of the 510, 415, 408, 650, and 707 since Richard Pryor stalked these same streets? Yes, world. You’ve come to the right book.”

—Jeff Chang Award winning author of “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop” and “Total Chaos: The Art & Aesthetics of Hip-Hop”

“We’ve got much more than 140 characters in the Bay… but 140 is all LB needs to rock these compulsively-readable, hilarious, and incisive mini-portraits. If you live here, you’ll be nodding your head in recognition… and if you don’t, well, you’re fucking up. But at least now you’ve got a field guide.”

— Adam Mansbach, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller “Go the Fuck to Sleep”.

The e-book will be available for download June 12th, 2012 and also available at the Official “Yes, Bay Area” Book Release Event at the Independent in San Francisco, CA!

Presented in conjunction with the Bay Area’s own LitQuake, June 16th, 2012 will be a celebration of epic proportions as LB brings his full LIVE band to The Independent in San Francisco, CA featuring Jazz Mafia, Joyo Velarde, Kat O1O, Skins & Needles and many more.
